South Texas Surgeons was founded in 2003 by Drs. Wright and Cárcamo, two board-certified San Antonio general surgeons who specialize in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery. We offer surgical treatment for diseases of the stomach, colon, gallbladder, spleen, skin and abdominal wall (hernia). Open as well as robotically-assisted surgical techniques are offered as well.
Drs. Cárcamo and Wright are two of the nation's premier Lap-Band surgeons, having safely performed over 4000 Lap-Band procedures. Their great results and low complication rates are among the finest reported. Sleeve Gastrectomy is also offered for patients who are appropriate candidates. In addition to surgery, we provide complete long-term nutritional and psychological support for weight loss surgery patients.
Free seminars are held twice weekly in our office to discuss the differences between the gastric band and gastric sleeve resection. The surgeons are available to answer questions and help you decide which procedure is best for you. We accept all major insurance plans, and are able to obtain insurance authorization for most of our patients. We also strive to have the most affordable cash pricing available for patients without insurance coverage, and offer financing if needed.
