We provide a complete, multidisciplinary approach to the surgical care of the morbidly obese patient. The practice was founded by Drs. Wright and Cárcamo, two board-certified San Antonio general surgeons who also treat a broad spectrum of surgical problems as well as the complications of morbid obesity.
The bariatric practice consists of surgeons specializing in the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (the LAP-BAND® System), as well as other health care specialists who provide medical, nutritional and psychological support.
The LAP-BAND® is a silicone belt designed to be inserted by laparoscopic procedure, and is placed around the stomach resulting in the ability to control hunger.
