San Antonio Bariatric Surgeons : Dr. Carcamo and Dr. Wright All bariatric surgeons must be board certified by The American College of Surgeons in order to practice surgery. The college has developed a Bariatric Surgery Center Network Accreditation Program that is necessary for these surgeons to follow in order for them to give high quality care for patients undergoing bariatric surgery. There is a manual that these bariatric surgeons must follow such as Clinical Standards, Physical Resources, and Surgeons Credential Standards required by the American College of Surgeons Bariatric Surgery Centers. Both Dr. Carcamo and Dr. Wright are members of the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and board certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Carcamo has been practicing general surgery since 1997 and Dr. Wright has been practicing general surgery since 2001. According to Overweight Teen sometime ago the American Obesity Association declared San Antonio, Texas, the fattest city in the United States. According to statistics from the U.S. Center for Disease Control, 31% of its residents are obese and 65% are overweight: the worst record in the nation. Every year Men’s Fitness Magazine lists the fattest cities in the United States based on non-scientific factors such as numbers of fast food restaurants, gyms and parks, alcohol use, etc. Every year San Antonio is always near the top of the magazine’s list of fattest cities. South Texas Surgeons Board Certified surgeons, Dr. Wright and Dr. Carcamo hope to give San Antonio some help on the obesity issue. Please feel free to sign-up for a free seminar. |
